Last week T. and I were in Kansas City visiting my family. Every time we go there it’s complete chaos because I usually have a list of things I need to accomplish being that we’re in “the big city” and I actually have (free!) babysitters. Also, my entire family lives in the area, so I usually try to squeeze in as many visits to (great)grandparents as I can. This time we had 3 graduations to attend, one of which, was 1.5 hours drive away.
Anyway, somehow, amongst the chaos of the week, we managed to go to the petting zoo. My mom swears we used to go there on field trips, but my brother and I had no recollection of the place. Either way, it was a lot of fun. Paul and I have taken T. to the zoo before, but he wasn’t as into the animals as we hoped he would be. I think it was because most of the bigger animals were too hard for him to see. This time, though, he giggled at some of the animals (the sheep especially). It was all a fun little mini-trip.
And if you happen to live in the Kansas City or are visiting, it’s the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead in Overland Park. They have a lot of stuff for kids to do, and it’s free Monday-Thursday!
